Trentino Alto Adige

Trentino Alto Adige is in northern Italy and borders with Austria. The region is made up of two distinct historic, cultural and administrative districts: Trentino in the south, which is the autonomous province of Trento, and Alto Adige in the north, which is the autonomous province of Bolzano.
The spectacular Dolomites are a must for all mountain lovers: there are good hotels, mountain shelters and both summer and winter holiday homes in the beautiful valleys: Val di Non, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa, Val di Sole.
The northernmost tip of Lake Garda is in Trentino and one of the most attractive towns on the lake is Riva del Garda. Polenta is a typical dish; another typical dish is canederli or "knodel".
