Valle d‘Aosta
Valle d‘Aosta is an almost entirely mountainous region and one of the favourite destinations for winter sports lovers.
Some of the highest peaks of Europe, such as Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, Cervino and Gran Paradiso, are in this region. Tourists who are not interested in sports can visit the medieval towns and castles scattered all over the region.
The Valle d’Aosta towns are little jewels and each has unique features.
The castles provide information on the history of the region in the Middle Ages. Do not miss the opportunity of visiting the following castles: Fenis Castle, Issogne Castle, Ussel (Chatillon) Castle, Sarriod de la Tour (Saint-Pierre) Castle, Sarre Castle and Castel Savoia di Gressoney and, last but not least, Forte di Bard is very definitely worth visiting.
